The only one I know of that has a set date that I am pretty excited about is Bullet For My Valentine's Temper Temper. A lot of the other bands that have said to release a new album are still in the "to be announced" category, so hopefully a release date will be set for those in the coming months.

Wow. New ASAP, Bad Religion and Talib Kweli records before Valentines day?
Nice. Also, Ill Bill has the potential to release a good record I feel, I've never actually listened to a whole album of his, what's the general consensus?

Urban Hat€monger ? 12-04-2012 10:10 AM

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds - Push Away The Sky (Feb 18th)

His homophobia can get a little grating after awhile (see also Vinnie Paz), but if you're into more harder hip hop along the lines of Immortal Technique and Jedi Mind Tricks, you'll get something out of this. He's also the brother of Necro, the rapper who tries to combine his love of hip hop and death metal with some mixed results. the Hour of Reprisal was my first Ill Bill album and I enjoyed it quite a bit and had some good guest choices, include Max Cavalera of Sepultura.

I had no idea he was working on new material.

If Wolf by Tyler the Creator doesn't come out this here month (he said it would, it was said to be november and that was a lie, and he hasn't said anything about it that's made the news), it should or better be 2013. But I think i may have heard he's putting it on hold indefinitely perhaps.

simoirs 12-04-2012 11:24 AM

There's the new BRMC album (March 2013) but the exact date should be posted by the end of the month. Seems like it's gonna be a future-defining moment for the band...hope for all the best!

The dream would be having Tool finally releasing the new album next year but it seems hard.

Can't imagine the influence he must have from the afterlife.

Edit: Whoops, didn't see that no TBA in the OP. I'll be back when they finally pin a release date on Madvillainy 2.

I heard three different release date rumors for Event II, funnily enough from the three members of Deltron 3030. Apparently there's some legal trouble with EMI and the album now has a "Spring 2013" release date, which it's going to miss.

I didn't know The Joy Formidable were already working on a followup album. January is looking to be a pretty decent month for music.

God that shit sucks. It's a double edged sword: If it's bad, it's the worst. If it's mediocre, it's bad, or set aside. However, if it's at least worth the original expectation, you just blow your damn load. I know no one here will agree with the reference, but the hype and anticipation built up for the Carter IV just made it all the juicier when it finally dropped, at least for me.

Alfred 12-04-2012 11:25 PM

I'm so nervous to listen to that new Tegan and Sara album, especially because I didn't care for the first two singles...I'll give it a shot anyway. Also I'd like to hear that new Villagers album. Also the new Frightened Rabbit album will definitely be worth a listen. Also if Wolf comes out in 2013 then I'll listen to that too, you know just to complete the trilogy.

I hear that the rock band Judas Priest is expected to release new music coming up soon. Let's see whether new music will occur.

I generally don't "look forward" to albums, rather naturally gravitate towards releases I hear about, but there are a few that have been named which peak my interest. (Bad Seeds, MGMT, VoidVod, Yo La Tengo...)

Ah, The Knife is releasing a new album. That's exciting. And I'm with Po on MBV, but I won't hold my breath.

Your standards must not be very high.

Is it just me or do new people just piss you off with some of their posts?
