Today, this may sound like innocent Retro Fun, and I will not blame you for thinking so, but back in the day stuff like this can just sap your will to live. Released on Pickwick Records, played by the Roller Disco Orchestra.

To all Frosty haters, this may be the worst of them all.

While Star Wars has three good films going for it (really two, but it's the holiday season, so I'm being nice) and Disco has some mighty fine classics despite the exploitation that led to a mountain of crap, The Brady Bunch was The Brady Bunch.

I don't think I'd describe that as innocent retro fun. I think we've just uncovered the next song for use as a torture method on repeat :o

And Frosty the f*cking Snowman was on both albums meaning I heard it round about every 30 minutes throughout that whole 2 months.

And no i'm not posting a f*cking youtube video of it.
I had a similar experience a few years ago...

My desk at a former company where I worked, used to be located about 50 feet away from a co-worker in his mid 50's who was a nut for Christmas music.
Every year he'd play nothing but Christmas music during his shift, starting in late November and continuing until the New Year.
He only had a couple of CD's worth of music (traditional songs & novelty songs) and he would put both of them on constant rotation every day.
The novelty songs were the most annoying and one in particular really grated on my nerves, "Dominick the Donkey" (a song about an Italian Christmas donkey who helps Santa deliver presents to Italian boys & girls) complete with lots of repetitious 'hee haws' throughout.

That song made "Frosty the Snowman" sound thoroughly enjoyable by comparison.

Can't be bothered to read the thread but has anyone mentioned The Pogues - Fairytale of New York yet?

Absolute dog **** of a tune. A pissed up, toothless degenerate without a note in his body and a faux Paddy bitch bickering about Christmas, for the next 3 weeks I will have to listen to the annoying 'once a year' lot stating how it's the best Christmas song and trying to sing the words after having had a half a lager too many.

It's not.

For years, it's been seen as the 'Alternative Christmas Anthem' but how does appearing on every ****ty MTV countdown of 'greatest christmas tunes' and every Now That's What I Call Christmas compilation make it an alternative to anything.

People listen to it because it's not merry and it represents everything that the festive time isn't supposed to be. Err, Hello there's an upbeat jig half way through the song with lyrics which I find highly objectionable giving our modern society and how frequently the song is played.

It's really grating as a track. Some guy who can't sing (no doubt everyone will say his voice is just 'different' but this argument doesn't seem to suffice for Elvis Costello on this forum) singing about an era he can't recall being a part of. He was probably kicking about, as an intoxicated child, who knows I couldn't be bothered Googling it, that's how much time I have for this song; very little.

I do not like it. It sucks.
5* rant. Well done sir.

"The Carol of the Bells."

I'm not even kidding with you when I say that song freaks me the freak out. Especially choral arrangements.

Lol at the idea.

Anyway, I just heard the start of "Christmas in Hollis," by Run DMC, for the first time this year. Hate it.

Agreed. Slade's atrocity is so bad it almost defies description. It should be illegal to play it anywhere. It's the song that causes pissed up girls all over the UK to start screaming the lyrics to every Christmas -cackling in incredibly high pitch, off key voices with their arms round each other, bumping into everyone as they jump around like idiots.

F*ck you Slade for making this happen and for your incredibly ****ty song.
