Ok here's one to stir up the hornet's nest....Eddy Grant...I've been told he's very successful elsewhere but the only song I really remember is 'Electric Avenue'. i do remember 'Romancing the stone', but did it do well on the charts?
Also does anyone know his other songs he had success without outside the US?
Eddy Grant had a lot of success here in the U.K but TBH he was kinds cheesy and regarded as Reggae Pop but this was a classic:
