Well anyways... This is a one-hit wonder 'cause it's the only single he ever released - it was in the top 5 in the UK & top 40 in the US. So it counts. I'll catch it on the radio now and then & it still stands out as sounding kinda out of place. I think it's the xylophone or whatever, lol.

Edwyn Collins 'A Girl Like You' - YouTube

Edwin Collins has a strong cult following with both his solo works as well as being in another one-hit wonder, Orange Juice. He's released a number of singles that usually registered in the lower reaches of the UK charts, although you can say that "A Girl Like You" was his only US single. I think in The UK, Collins has had a couple of other known singles. Still, even though chart-wise he's been sporadic, like Terry Hall, he's quite an icon.

^ Never heard of that one (or Orange Juice) before but I liked it! Very catchy. & I didn't know that about him.

Big ears, great selections, I have not heard most of these. But that's why I came to this site, to enjoy and learn more about music.

Anyone else think of Screen13 as some uber music connoisseur. I imagine him sitting inside a mansion at a long dinner table with a laced table cloth studded with diamonds. And his butler comes out with a silver tray and an ipod and gently lays a napkin on Screen's lap. Screen listens to the selections and after he's done he dabs both sides of his mouth with the napkin and says 'Hmm, yes, very good Reginald. I found the '76 quite delectable. The 2012 was not as sophisticated, but it offset the '79 brilliantly.'

No I am not in love with Screen13. I just fantasize about him. That's all.

I could sit here babbling off the titles of one hit wonders in pop music for hours, if not weeks, but I'll spare you the suffering.

My all time favorite one hit wonder is from 1966. They're Coming To Take Me Away Ha Haaa! by Napoleon the XIV has the historic distinction of not only being the first rap song, but technically it's also the first punk song. They always said Napoleon was years ahead of his time and I guess he was.
