Late 60's and early 70's guitar driven progressive rock like Hendrix, the Allman brothers, black sabbath, Led zeppelin, etc. Vinyl really captures the warmth and "electric" feel of the instruments and recording equipment driving the sound of that era.

Yes, definitely Stoner rock, but other than the letters s-t-o-n-e I see
lttle connection between STP and stoner rock. I'm thinking more along the lines of Kyuss, Qotsa, The Melvins, Clutch, Sleep etc.

anything and everything is good on vinyl

but nothing beats my Curtis Mayfield 'Superfly' vinyl. Yeah, i suck.
