Sinead O'Connor
Hello. I've started listening to 'Nothing compares 2U' A LOT today, im suddenly obsessed with the song. What Sinead O'Connor album is best to start with?
|
The only album by Sinead O'Connor I have listened to is "Universal Mother", and I like it. You should check it out! It's probably not her best album, but then again, I don't know.
The album features a cover of Nirvana's "All Apologies", and it's very quiet and beautiful. |

I think that song is the only one that has made Sinead O'connor today. Other than that, her other songs are either not known or most people don't care for her.

Check out "The lion and the cobra", especially "Mandinka", "Jackie" and "Troy". But in fairness, it's the only one of her albums I have, or have listened to.
NC2U was of course composed by Prince, so although it's far and away her biggest and most recognisable hit, it's probably not a fair representation of her music. |
I heard the Pope didn't like her.

^ really? or are you joking..

I've been going through 90's SNL on Netflix and I actually just watched the episode where she tore up that picture. They cut the music performances, and even if they showed them SNL doesn't air her doing that anymore (they show a clip from rehearsals), but it was still interesting to see where it happened. The next few episodes really did a lot to save SNL's image by making fun of her hardcore.

those pussies. Nothing Compares is sweet, though, but I can't say I've listened to much else. I like her iconoclastic nature though.
