System Of A Down was, with just about every album they released (except for "Steal This Album"). If we threw in the towel, just imagine how many headaches there would be in the world ruled by pop and rap.

My point is that in my experience, a hell of a lot of metalheads wouldn't want the music they listen to be become commercially successful and to have to "share it" with other people. Who would they label as sellouts then?

Don't insult the other music genres, please. Pop and rap are as good as any other style of music. For example, Justin Timberlake is way more talented than almost every rock and metal musician who started his career since 1995.

Seriously. It seems like any metal band that went mainstream would instantly be shunned by the metal community at large for selling out. Even the popular Alt Rock acts of the 1990s seemed to be rejected by their original fanbase when they went platinum.

Look, as a person who listens mainly to the 60s music, I don't like guys like Timberlake. But don't be narrow-minded. The guy is one of the, if not the most famous musician of the 2000s, he writes his own songs and for other artists, too, he is a multi-instrumentalist, he sings pretty well, he is a good dancer, and, come on, you can't deny that his songs are damn good. Don't get me wrong, I am not a big fan of him, I like many of today's metal bands much more than him, but I just don't let my personal passions to decieve my mind.

I wouldn't call him the most famous musician of the 2000s, not by a long shot. I've always thought he was talented, but you honestly think he's more talented than any rock or metal musicians who've started their careers after 1995?
