Default Is it that easy?

I ask myself how many new popstars get their record deal? What is the best way to become famous? I tried so many contests but I've never been that lucky.

^ Tulisa from N-Dubz must have skipped that part of her training.

so what?

it's longevity i'm more concerned about

anybody can be PSY or Rebecca Black, but only few can be KISS or The Rolling Stones

You mean the Beatles? It's the longevity without even being around that really impresses me. Thats a true lasting impact.

I mean while still alive

who cares when two of them are dead?

also they have broken up long ago

The Stones and KISS are still working their asses off to feed their great grandchildren

Kiss is an interesting example in that they weren't ever a particularly good band but they knew what they were good at, which was just entertaining the living sh*t out of their audiences. The make-up, the theatrics, the pyrotechnics all helped them stand apart, not to mention the fact that they just plain worked their asses off.

Nowadays, every dewy eyed youngster with a synthesizer is posting a You Tube video and most of the music they are making sucks. What makes you stand apart from the crowd? What makes you the next Lana Del Ray? I think you need to answer that question before you worry about why no one is waving a contract in your face.

And write some great songs, which they don't get nearly enough credit for.
