I just got here today for the first time.
This site looks healthier than some others.

I don't understand it either.
There was a breakbeat forum I wanted to join--it died.
Dubstepforums--closed
Even VintageSynth seems mostly like a ghost town.

I think part of it is the competitive unfair push to "upgrade" forum software. Really, there's no need to. If it works, it still works.

Most of the newer forum formats look like crap to me, but they seem to be more privacy invasive with more user tracking "features" (bloatware).

I think another problem is people trying to copy YouTube or something.
It's just not a healthy business/social model to follow.

And Reddit is nice, but it looks like crap and is hard to read.
These forums here are much easier.

Even forums like BleepingComputer (which I used to visit) have been swallowed up with ads.

And three other different sites I used to go to got suffucated by bullies, ads, and too much censorship.

I think eventually they end up just dying.
But I don't really understand it either.
