Albums with only acoustic guitar / vocals / (optional) harmonica
Hi folks,
Forgive me if I am in the wrong section completely, I've literally just registered. I am the sole member of an alternative folk act here in ireland, and I'm searching for inspiration. I am looking for advice and suggestions relating to albums with minimal instrumention, i.e; acoustic guitar / vocals / harmonica. I am a fan of the likes of Fleet foxes, Gregory Alan Isakov, J Tillman, Leonard Cohen etc. I thought it would be easy enough to find this question answered online in the 21st century, but any posts I've come across dont quite hit the spot for me personally. To maybe aid in any reponse you guys might post, my music can be found on [removed] for you to hear what im going for, and maybe spark a relative thought. Your responses will be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Connor |

Greetings from a fellow Irishman!
You presumably have already listened to the likes of Christy Moore, Damien Rice, Planxty, all that lot? How about Rory? He did some great acoustic stuff, particularly on "Deuce", if I remember. Or Springsteen's "Nebraska" would be another one. Newton Faulkner's not bad either. |
