Based on bands you've heard?

At least 3/4 of "white" bands I listen to don't sing Beatles songs. A good portion of coloured people love The Beatles as well. So I don't see how this has anything to do with being white unless you mean influence on western music culture.

No, based on the phenomenon of one white person mumbling some post-Help! (there are exceptions of course) lyrics, and other white people deciding it should be a shared experience.

I still think it's an insignificant point to make. I think it's fair to say a lot of different roads have opened that doesn't exactly have a line to The Beatles in "white culture" since then. Nor do I think ethnicity is depended on post rambling Beatles-esque lyrics that's being shared around.
