I'm a bit confused as well, I've always found that Stones have realised how distasteful the Stones can be and that they are by no means a band everyone can cope with listening to ("Stray Cat Blues" - SHE'S ONLY FIFTEEN). I've not really encountered any of these Stones nuts that defend them with the same viciousness as the Beatles bores. Mind you, I love the Stones.

I don't think there's anything wrong with people loving these albums at all if they genuinely feel that way. On the topic of introductions to rock n' roll, none of these are bad choices.

I don't lend any credence to Rolling Stone anyway. It's just a mainstream magazine doing its job: catering to a mainstream audience, and there's nothing wrong with that.

So many what? Clash fans? A lot of people like the Clash here, but I haven't seen any of them rabidly proclaiming them the greatest band on Earth or anything.
