The Rolling Stones Big 4!
One of the big 4 may not be your all time favourite Stones record. But I'm curious to know which one you think is the best? If i had to put them in order:
Sticky Fingers for its emotion, completeness and all round coolness Let It Bleed a short snappy record filled with country gems Exile on Main St. a tad too long for my taste but individually the songs are untouchable Beggars Banquet the weakest in my opinion with too much filler but some gems nonetheless

Putting them in order is like putting my family members in order from who I love the most to the least. Beggars Banquet - One of the first stone always i loved entirely and never have to worry about skipping a track Let it bleed - Another solid project but the only song I hate on it is Country Honk if that was replaced with Honky Tonk Woman it would be higher than BB. Sticky Fingers - Some of the best and darkest stones songs and my dad's personal Favorite. Exile in Main Street - At first I hated this album but it took me time to get into it and now I accept it and love it. Yet it's way too long and it sounds so muddy and low quality sounding. (imo) Thats my order from most favorite to least favorite, wow it's in chronological order as well. lol |

Let It Bleed for me. (Guess I made it a tie between all four)
Gimme Shelter, Let It Bleed, Midnight Rambler, You Can't Always Get What You Want, and Monkey Man are all classics while You've Got the Sliver is seriously beautiful. Don't mind Country Honk too much despite it being a bit of a skip track in a not so good mood. Honky Tonk Woman was already on the Through the Past, Darkly collection. Live With Me also stands out. Beggar's Banquet was a major comeback after fooling around with the Psychedelic stuff and is almost a perfect album (I like Satanic Majesties, love "We Love You," but you know what I mean). Today, you may consider it a warm up for Let It Bleed, but then it was a cause for celebration. Street Fighting Man is sharp, Stray Cat Blues is super sleazy, and Sympathy for the Devil is a classic. Sticky Fingers is great, and Exile is epic. Last edited by Screen13; 08-01-2012 at 03:42 PM. |
