Dudes that like chick singer/songwriters

I hate the phrase "singer/songwriter", or at least the way it's generally used, no doubt Julie Christmas, Jex Thoth, Jarboe all write and sing(awesomely I might add) but somehow they don't count as singer/songwriters?(not trying to give the op **** in any possible way i should add, it's not their fault someone else decided decades ago to co-opt the phrase to mean more than what it should, just a pet peeve of mine)

I still own the first 3 Sheryl Crow cds, I also don't skip most of the tunes if they come up randomly. Still have some PJ Harvey, and I actually own pretty much the entire Luscious Jackson discography (only missing a few singles).

Also quite liked Poe back in the late 90s but she was a bit more alternative than most singer songwriter types. This is probably her most straightforward 'singer songwriter' type tune - really like the key change and shift in mood / tone around 2:30

I like so many chick singers/songwriters that listing them seems pointless.
Basing one's musical taste on the sex of a singer makes no sense to me and I think that only truly malfunctioning dudes make this ridiculous distinction.
