I am like that with all my artists on my ipod. Over the summer I went from 1,000 ipod songs to 7,000 ipod songs, and haven't been able to listen to or look at all the bands. So I've just been going from one band to another....but I've really been listening to a lot of Foster the People and I was into Joan Jett before....

I still have an obsession with Mid 60's Garage Punk - Late 60's Psychedelia. So much, in fact, that years ago I tracked down chart positions plus mentions of non-charting records from issues of Billboard in a local library, and still have my notes. (Idea for a Member's Blog, perhaps?)

My new obsession is going through cheap used record bins and getting cut-outs. Got the bug when I was a kid, and the parents not minding spending a Dollar on an album (hey, I got The Pleasure Principle that way, a great start!). It's an odd fetish, but I hope that it connects with some here. Although some have tried to have a blog that focused on Cut Outs, I mainly go for the stuff I will seriously listen to.

At the moment. Instead of continually battering albums/artistes I love, I deliberately avoid listening to them for as long as possible and listen to as many others as possible so that when I do get back round to them they sound even more marvellous.

Which is nice.

my obsession is more like a "wild mood swing"

one day I'll be into extreme metal, the next dubstep and so on and so forth

as for getting the music, they're mostly on impulse - looks interesting, or even "this" just popped into my mind, then I'll either buy or download it

i have this insatiable appetite and greed for more new music

and if it's an artist I like, I. MUST. OWN. THEIR. ENTIRE. DISCOGRAPHY

I went through a spell of that and it became ridiculous - I had about sixty albums that I hadn't heard a note of and I was still frantically searching for more.

So, one day I had a major music cull - 'twas carnage.

I continuously listen to new albums every week. I like to mix things up and listen to all sorts of different music. I do occasionally listen to an entire discography of an artist. This month i revisited that of Linkin Park and loved every bit of it. I do have tons and tons of albums that I still have not listened to, so here I go and listen to more!

I was this way all threw highschool. Got hook on Marilyn Manson took the time to listen to almsot everything. Even took the time to read his book. then I moved on to Coldplay, still loving them watching interveiws and so on. Also dug deep into Tom petty, Ozzy, Lenard Skinnard, Green Day, Maroon 5 and so on. I love to learn about their backgrounds

All my favourite artists I'm addicted too. I can go a whole week, 2 weeks without listening to any music then, I just have that urge for music

You can't go back from your first music love! For me, Iron Maiden!
