Don't really care about her but what a lovely world we'd live in if Cobain was still alive and no Foo Fighters albums existed.

Dave Grohl would more than likely have wanted to do his own thing anyway and still have done Foo Fighters as a side project. But yeah it would be a wonderful world.

Not really. It kind of annoys me when people do this, at least make an effort and give some sort of explanation for your choice.
well, the amount of guitar pedal effects that try to replicate Jimi's sound really says a lot, doesn't it?

Yea Hendrix, John Bonham, Jim Morrison, Joe Strummer and Dimebag Darell of course.

May not be the biggest but Layne Staley and Shannon Hoon come to mind.

Captain Beefheart

cos he was really trailblazing with his last three albums

then again, he already announced his retirement but a friend of mine wanted to look him up to talk him out of it (before he died)
