Smart Searching: A Tip for Music Explorers
Making use of specific Google search terms lately has helped me to really refine my music searches. So, I thought I would share with you guys some ways to make the most out of your music searches (if you don't already know how). This is for all the programming noobs out there
There is a reliable way to search for multiple tags on last.fm via Google search.... Type in the following: site:last.fm/music intitle:"tags for" ...followed by whatever tags you want to search in combination (in quotes). So your end result could look something like this: site:last.fm/music intitle:"tags for" "space rock" "minimal" "progressive" You can get really creative with the combinations. For allmusic, you can search moods and themes just as easily based on their lists: site:allmusic.com/artist "artist moods" or site:allmusic.com/artist "artist themes" or site:allmusic.com/album "album moods" or site:allmusic.com/album "album themes" With a few adjustments, I'm sure this could work with several other sites as well. Try it out! It's kinda fun, if you like that sort of thing |

Off topic: I wonder if there's a musical equivalent of Rule 34? Such as, if you can of a genre, it has already been created, and if it hasn't, and you mention it, it is now being made.

I've found some pretty odd combos myself! Some good, some, well, just odd... As long as you tag it, that seems like a possible scenario! (Unless of course you mention it, and then somebody else tags it...) |
