Default the first song

i just recently started noticing that a lot of bands have pointless intro's as the first track on thier cds. the first i noticed is the offspring. on both smash and americana, they have this guys talking. this im ok with because its funny. the ones that bug me are bands like AFI, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold...etc. they all have these wierd and somwhat bothersome intros. anyone else know and or is bothered by these?

No, I like 'em. Sometimes the 'interlude's can annoy me, if theyre just in the middle of the album and have no real point at all... But I normally like the intros, they set the scene almost..

I like it better when a CD starts out with a good, hard hitting song. Sometimes other non-musical types of intros, if they are done right, can really do a good job of setting up the CD. If done wrong, they can kinda sour a CD (at least in my mind).

yeah the afi intro on sing the sorrow at first i thought was a little stupid and i would always skip it but now i just listen to it anyway. even though it repeats the same 5 sentences over and over again its still pretty good.

I hate it more when you have secret tracks about 20 mins after the last song.

REALLY annoying if your using a multi-changer

For me it just depends on the mood I'm in. If I feel like getting the full experiance, I'll listen to it. If I'm in the mood for just a couple songs on the disc, I'll skip it.
