7 Songs That Can Make You Cry/Give You Goosebumps :)

It only can be a specific part of a song :D (please post videos with the seconds so i can check out the special moments of the song)
It can make you extremely happy or tear up..(moments that are so beautiful or touches you in a certain way...takes you to a far away place in your mind...What are your top 7 song moments that connects with you on a whole different level? (check out my examples so you can get the full meaning of this)

1.
The Beatles - Don't Let Me Down - YouTube (0:28 - 0:53) I always get major goosebumps hearing that part because it sounds like John is pooring out his heart through his vocals..so deep and loving.

2.
please let me wonder -the beach boys - YouTube (2:13 - 2:47)..The last few seconds of that song just sums up beautiful harmony and when the beat drops Oh My! :O

3.
Radiohead-Optimistic - YouTube (0:00 - 0:30) One of my favorite intro's ever it makes me feel like I'm in the rainforest looking for a way out.

4.
Genesis - Happy The Man - YouTube (0:00 - 0:30) The first 30 seconds are some of the prettiest sounds / harmonies i've ever heard in my life.

5.
Little Anthony & The Imperials - I'm On The Outside Looking In (Original Stereo) - YouTube (2:27 - 3:02) When he sings on the outside looking it it really sounds like he's about to cry and really is pleading.

6.
Amy Winehouse - Our Day Will Come - YouTube (2:00 - 2:49) This is the type of outro that every song should have..Give your best b4 you leave..It makes me sad that she's not alive to give people more beautiful moments like this.

7.
Cabin Essence - The Beach Boys (The SMiLE Sessions [Disc 3]) - YouTube (2:35 -3:30) The build up is unbelievable it sounds like you're about to reach the light at the end of the tunnel (climax)..This is so mystical and hypnotizing everytime I hear it my mind drifts off and I snap out of it when the song is over..*snap* ok what happened?

Why do they make you cry?
"Tears in Heaven" is a decent song.
but I can't listen to anything R.E.M ....Michael Stipes's voice just doesn't sit right with me :/

Trollheart 06-01-2012 04:49 AM

Well it's all relative, isn't it? What makes someone cry may make someone else puke. I too get very moved by "Everybody hurts". Then again, it can be that it reminds you of a specific thing, not that the song itself is that sad. The song "Windows and walls" by Dan Fogelberg once made me burst out crying, as I had played it for my mother shortly before she passed away, and after a few weeks of bottling it in I was listening to the song one morning when the tears just came bursting out, as I realised I'd never again share that song --- or any other, or anything else --- with my mam.

(****ing ad: just skip it as soon as you can -- ruins the atmos)

The part where he sings "The clock on the mantle/Chiming the hours/Must be the loneliest sound" and you hear the sound of a clock. So sad, and so true.

indiebabe092 06-01-2012 07:17 AM

YES!! i agree.. Tears in heaven by Eric Clapton always has me in tears!

Trollheart 06-01-2012 08:54 AM

And why? Not because (for me anyway) it's such a great song --- to be honest, they played it so much on the radio I used to turn it off --- but because it's a true story, about his kid dying accidentally. Very sad, very much from the heart.

The sads....

This one reminds me of 9/11. "This isn't happening..." I get welled up every single time I hear it. NYC is my backyard and it hurts thinking about it. Beautiful song.

No description needed on why this is sad.

The goosebumps...

One of my favorite artists with one of the most intense songs I've ever heard.

The solo at the end. David Gilmour is a god.

good choices :) i always loved how to disappear it has an eerie creepy feel to it yet it's still beautiful

johnny cash has never been a favorite of mine..i know he did the song justice but i still prefer the nine inch nails version.

this is an example of how amazing gilmour is on that ****in guitar..
best song on the wall that's for sure!

I don't cry or get emotional because that is for girls... but hypothetically if I did this song is so weird and interesting and I don't know how to describe the feeling I get when I listen to it but the whole album "Grace" does it for me.. just a weird emotion.

Plankton 06-01-2012 10:00 AM

Goosbumps! Especially Jeff from 2:38 on...

JEFF BECK IMELDA MAY - LILAC WINE. - YouTube

So much love in this next one... more GB's

Eric Johnson | 09-When The Sun Meets The Sky (with lyrics) from the album "Venus Isle" (1996) - YouTube

Next one has been draining my eyes for years now...

Enya - Watermark - YouTube

This one makes me think of my Mom. She passed some time ago...

Sevendust Angel's Son -Lyrics- - YouTube

One of BH's best tear jerkers. Really makes me long for the old times with my father...

Buckethead watching the boats with my dad - YouTube

Kinda hard to remember all the mainstream ones, but here's a couple I've created (don't wanna self promote, but I thought of these atm), the first being one I made for my GF's father who passed, and the last one was made for my daughter when she was 6... it's a happy song, but there are parts of it that really hit me for some reason...

If you don't cry or get emotional then you're not a balanced human being. Itunesucks will learn that when he turns 10. For now, that ignorant statement is going in my signature.

That's sick that I made your quote section! I'm truly honored. You saracasm detector and maybe sense of humor might suck but that is awesome, keep me in there.

That was a song dedicated to the late James Lynn Straight, deceased singer for Snot, which is one of my favorite bands. It's a damn shame he died so young, and at the start of a brilliant career.

My sarcasm detector? You're right. I should get the part checked out that is able to tell that members with 60 posts that I haven't seen before are joking when they type words on a computer.

Haha I know I f'in hate texts and e-mails... its so hard to lay down the sarcasm.

Luckily I'm a cool laid back dude and can take your rude posts with a grain of salt and forgive you, for you know not what you do. We'll become good buddies though.

Exo 06-01-2012 10:44 AM

I certainly hope so!

Thank you Itunesucks for derailing the thread, now let's please end this discussion.

Also, I find it weird how there are 2 songs off Kid A in this thread and yet nobody mentioned this one yet:

There are more but I don't feel like posting all of them but I eventually will. Hopefully.

What a condescending thing to say! I feel sorry for you if you can't release your emotions, or think you can't, because you're a man...

Ahaha if you think ym attitude is wrong then a post like this and a wonderful private message like the one you sent me aren't gonna change it. I didn't even imply my post as rude and if I did come across that way then I'm so sorry, but this is not the way you should react to it. I know it and you should know it as well, "I'm a noob" is not an excuse.

No I'm serious.. Kid A blows dick. What a horrible waste of an album. This is music banter right. I'm here to talk music... and if I don't like an album I can say so Pig.

2 little things:

1: I wasn't referring to your argument about Kid A but to your argument about me being a pretentious douchebag, please carefully read my posts before you go butthurt on them.

2: As well as you can talk music, I can talk music so if I disagree with you I have the right to say so as well. ;)

Let's knock off the firefight folks and stick to the topic of the thread.

Trollheart 06-01-2012 03:12 PM

Another song that just gives me the shivers and brings the tears. What an amazingly simple yet beautiful piece of music...

Forward To Death 06-01-2012 03:17 PM

Always reminds me of those humane society commercials. Those commercials alone almost make me want to cry, all of them show these abused animals and stuff.

Trollheart 06-01-2012 03:23 PM

I don't watch them, I can't. As soon as I hear the piano music and someone says "Can you give a home to...?" I have to fast-forward, wimp that I am. I love animals, and can't stand to see them being abused or mistreated, even if there is a happy ending, and even if the animals themselves talk in cute voices.

anticipation 06-01-2012 03:23 PM

yep.

Mrd00d 06-01-2012 03:45 PM

Seen some Cloudkicker, that was a pleasant surprise!

Nice choice on Buckethead, too.

And Tool, H., I can relate as well.

My original thoughts coming in here were in no particular distinction:

REM's "Losing My Religion"
Tool's "Lateralus"
Pink Floyd/Les Claypool's Frog Brigade's "Dogs"
Buckethead's "Population Override"
Freak Kitchen's "OK"
Beck's "Guess I'm Doin' Fine"
Alice in Chain's "Rooster"
Beck's "Lonesome Tears"

I'm sure there are plenty more, but those are all I can think of at the moment.
