The Soundtrack of Your Life?
So I've listened to a lot of different bands over the course of the last 10 years, but I always have my roots and the songs that I regress back to. The ones that I can associate with one or several moments in my life. Like when you hear "Laid" by James you think of American Pie - well i do...
So, 10 songs that would be in the soundtrack album of your life, I'll get the ball rolling: 1. With or Without You - U2. First song I ever learned on guitar and I song which I still frequently listen to and love to bits! 2. Buck Rogers - Feeder. A real nostalgia tune 3. I Giorni - Ludivico Eianudi. A sad sad song, hahaha. Translates as "The Days", I'm told. makes me think of being a kid again. 4. Everchanging (Acoustic) - Rise Against. Always reminds me of the first girl I loved. Starting to have to give this some thought now........ 5. Who Says - John Mayer 6. Passive - A Perfect Circle 7. Diary of Jane - Breaking Benjamin 8. So Here We Are - Bloc Party 9. Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix 10. Pierrot the Clown - Placebo Not really the songs I listen to now, but songs that take me right back when I hear them!! your turn,......go!

1 - Bill Haley and His Comets - Rock Around the Clock (I can still see the images of the record being dropped inside a jukebox for the start of Happy Days from the late 70s). 2 - Johnny Mandel - Suicide is Painless - Better known as the theme for M.A.S.H. - again, I hear this song, I remember being a toddler and seeing the helicopters on tv. 3 - Lionel Ritchie - Dancing on the Ceiling - First album I ever asked for. 4 - Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer - The video defines being about 10 and the wonder and awe the world offered. My ears hear the music, my brain recalls the video. 5 - RHCP - Jungle Man - The lightning bolt that would get me my first guitar. 6 - RHCP - Johnny Kick a Hole in the Sky - Pilotwings on the SNES. I got that game and Mother's Milk around the same time, at this point I can't hear or see one without remembering the other. 7 - The Doors - Riders on the Storm - first song I learned on guitar 8 - Nirvana - Scentless Apprentice / Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock - Both In Utero and Siamese Dreams were -the- tapes of choice and the soundtracks to the last few summers of having to push mow a big lawn. When I hear the drum intros to either tune I still smell fresh cut grass. |
