Portugal. The Man is from Alaska. They're getting pretty popular. Their 2011 album was a pretty good hit. Their prior work had built them a fanbase. I think it'll be right up Trollheart's alley for Alaska.

@Trollheart I was thinking about your project, a good angle may well be "the actual significance" the bands from each state have had. Now that doesn't always mean they're good bands, but the impact and influence that they have had on rock in general. If you're going to ask people to provide a list of bands from each state, then I think each person should say why they are nominating a band than just naming a load of names as so often just happens on here.
