I never learned how to read!

Also on topic, I assume all of you who don't read and listen to music at the same time do listen to music while on MusicBanter? Is that too distracting as well, or are you using a different brain process or something?

Yeah I usually listen to music while posting/lurking. The difference for me is that when I'm reading a book I'm either wrapped-up in a fictional world created in a good novel or trying to comprehend and retain information when I'm reading nonfiction. I don't feel like I'm focusing on either of those when reading through threads. And posters here don't do imagery for shit.

A few points: I personally think avatars should be exclusive to each poster. To me, avatars say something about the person you are (see mine opposite) and if someone uses yours, then they're either very like you (unlikely) or stealing your mojo. And that's a serious crime. One avatar, one poster, would be my rule. If I were a mod. Which I'm not. And if anyone cared. Which they don't. Except maybe Urban. And wolverinewieseilpigeon (seriously, where did that name come from??).

As to music when reading MB, no I don't. I can concentrate on a lot of things with music in the background, but I can't read properly, and definitely can't write that way. Unless I'm reviewing an album, and sometimes I might have to pause the music to collect my thoughts. Even if there's a YT going while I'm on here I usually stop it.
