half right - you can search for them directly but any time a page is linked from a search engine you get an error page, simply copy and paste the link instead of clicking on it and if the linked file still exists you'll get to the right page.

I can't get **** from it. I uploaded an album to it, thinking it would be safe, then my computer crashed. I sought mediafire out for backup and it was like, "Aw, hell naw. We don't do dat **** no mo."

no, don't touch that. Just get yourself a zip/rar file opener, there's one here
WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files

Get the 32 bit if you have 32 Windows and 64 bit for 64 Windows.
This allows you to access the files on mp3crank.com
Just hit download at the bottom (where the file size is), it'll redirect you to a third party download like rapidshare or potsload, hit download there and you're away.
The password is always mp3crank.com (one word)

Search for albums on filestube. Usually get some mediafire ones on there.

Mediafire's descent into it's current state has been a big blow for me. Most of my favourite blogspot blogs have either shut down or changed their content as a result of it and stumbling across older blog posts looking for stuff is completely pointless.

I'm having to make do with torrents at the moment but they're only really good for more popular stuff or new releases.

I have Winrar on my computer but everything I click on on MP3Crank asks me to download ilivid. I tried to copy the link but it just took me back to page I was already on. Not sure what to do at this point.

okay, so you click on an album and get this screen.

Hit the download album (with size next to it)

this will present you with this screen. Click on Potsload, for some albums there is an option to use Rapidshare, Mediafire, Filetram, etc. These are all third party file sharing sites and redirect you to where mp3Crank store their albums.

Click on Potsload.

This will take you to the download page above. Hit free download, wait your 10 seconds and hit 'create download link' Hey presto, you have an album.

EDIT: Forgot to crop the last two images, so the page is irregularly sized. My bad.

No worries, there's another site; if you're not aware that provides a similar service to mp3crank but has some different albums on it called Mp3Boo.com.
They're ran by the same people but sometimes they'll have an album mp3crank doesn't and vice versa.
