Well the whiny singing by Billy Corgan is not everybody's cup of tea and if you don't like the vocals, all that's left are the instrumentals to enjoy really.
I agree, Piper at the Gates of Dawn is one of the most overrated albums of the 1960s and if you don't enjoy it, you probably won't enjoy Syd's solo stuff much either, which is all rather patchy as the bloke was totally off his rocker by that stage. As far as A Saucerful of Secrets is concerned, Syd was only on about 2 or 3 songs anyway.
