This is the most underrated song in the world in existence today ever that existed. I can't explain how it makes me feel, I just feel like so much more when I listen to this song. I don't actually think I have ever purposely skipped this song on my MP3. Ever. May not seem like a big deal, butmeh, it is.


Song is Take A Look Around by Limp Bizkit. Band sucks, apart from this and another song ('One', on the same album). The random HL that the song comes from is really the reason I like that song so much. Because the moment I watched it I fell in love with Genki Sudo, and the song reminds me of the feeling every single time. And I like the drums.

Yes I know I've picked more than one but it would be unfair to highlight just one as they were all integral to my reason.

I was going through a difficult time - I was single, everyone else was dating, weekends were meaningless and the weeks and months were merging into one long, empty void. I can't really explain in all honesty why, but, these songs carried me through it. There's such an amazing atmosphere to the songs.

The beginning of 'A Reminder' always makes me think of a futuristic train station. We hear the muted sound of what could be an announcement just as the last train leaves. I pictured a lone figure waiting to be taken to somewhere, anywhere, just not here not realising that he's too late.

'Punchdrunk Lovesick Singalong' A lament for a love lost or a sonnet for one found? The first time that I truly understood the term 'tugs at your heartstrings'. Such a beautifully arranged song and highlighted Radiohead at their very, very best.

Faith No More - The Real Thing. I love the varying vocal styles in this song and think it lends real weight and meaning to it.

"It's like the pattern below the skin, you gotta reach it and pull it all in"

An almost desperate quality to his voice as if he's unable to fully explain the importance.

'Like the echoes of your childhood laughter," is almost whispered, conferring a secret that really shouldn't be.

I wish I had the skill and flair to describe the emotional effect of these songs, but sadly I don't.

No song will ever be able to do the same thing that this song did to me. I deliberately barely listen to this track because it has too much of an impact on me. Durin g the whole track I sit on my chair, barely moving, barely breathing. This song drives me to tears every time I listen to it, it's not just because of its sheer beauty but because I see this song as what I will end up like, desillusionated by life, seeing how all hopes and dreams that I ever had merely were little white lies. It's not like the movies.

The melodic guitars at the beginning is probably the most relaxing sonic piece of music that I have ever heard. Lou's voice aswell, throughout the whole song is just monotone, which mirrors his nihilistic lyrics. The amazing thing is, when subject changes to death and heroin, he starts singing romantically to it.

Then the heart pounding crescendo. And then, the viola starts slowly down, drums slowing down, the guitars starts slowing down, and there is a sharp sound of feedback to signal the song going back to the melodic quieter bits, so sharp it just rips through you. And then a strum at the guitars to end it.

No song will ever match the emotion of Heroin by VU. Anthem for a 17 year old girl by Broken Social Scene I think was close, maybe I'm So Tired by Fugazi, maybe final day by Young Marble giants, maybe from safety to where by Joy Division, maybe words by Low. But still not close.

There are quite a few actually & they're mostly TOOL songs, I am a die hard fan and every song (with the exception of a few joke songs) have touched me in some way, I can relate to them all on some level... Prison Sex was the first one for me because I'd found a connection and no longer felt alone.

Blind Melon does it for me too, the songs Walk, St. Andrews Fall, Soup & Paper Scratcher.

Alice In Chains is another one... Nutshell, Whale & Wasp, Alone & Rain When I Die.
