Default Where to download albums...

Well, I haven’t downloaded any albums in quite a while now as I generally like to support artists all I can, however I want to have all the albums from my cassette tape collection downloaded onto my ipod but it’s tricky because unlike cd’s and vinyl I can’t just copy them after purchase.

So where is the best place to download albums from, preferably non-mainstream metal kind of stuff? I used to use Soulseek but it doesn’t seem to be working that great for me anymore..
Anyone have any suggestions???
Thanx.

Just type in the [album name] and [band name] and [rar or zip] into google, or you can type in [mediafire] instead of the rar and zip and a download will come up from mediafire most of the time.

That's how I do it anyway.

I just Google this:
[artist name] [album name] site:mediafire.com

Just know that Mediafire has been removing albums lately, so you won't always find what you want.

If you are able to digitise your vinyl you should be able to use the same sort of process to rip your cassettes.

No, I have a USB turntable that only has the equipment to digitize vinyl to mp3 unfortunately.

Anyways thanks a lot for the tips guys, I'll give that a shot.

it's simple you can search your favorite album on Youtube and after copying the link you can paste it on Keepvid.com.the cool about the website is they give the facility to download the video of desirable clarity(pixles).

mediafire is iffy these days

because of the Millenium Digital Copyright Act, they're taking down albums en masse from the servers

on the bright side, a lot of unknown relatively obscure albums are still there

Soulseek doesnt work?

I use it to this day and have no problems finding anything. Works perfectly. Maybe you are just using an outdated version. Generally when a new version comes out most users will switch over to it and leave the old one, which in turn gives little results.

Had that problem before I switched to the newest version, seemed one day I was getting nothing anymore, but when i got the latest version it all came back.

Also depends on your OS, on vista I had to do a port forward, on 7 it did it automatically. People who say they get nothing from Soulseek usually just forget they have to do a port forward for it to work right.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I forgot to mention I have a Mac book.
I did download soulseek for Mac but it’s still not great for a lot of stuff, especially more obscure things..
