Hey, I usually hate when people ask this question to me, but just post the song that captures your essence, your soul the best. The song that describes you best, how you see the world. You can post more than one, no strict rules here. Share with me who you are through music. Don't be afraid to post a song that you think other people might not like, this is your personal song and we want to hear it.
My first choice is this. It is 80's psychedelic music. For me it captures that sensation of life, where I am confounded by the beauty of even the smallest and most seemingly irrelevant and subtle of things. It also captures feelings of love and friendship for me, and nostalgia. For me it captures feelings of isolation in the modern industrialized world as well. Jesus I sound pretentious. Well thats how I feel. Whatever. The Chameleons - View from a Hill - YouTube

![]() I know it's not the best song of all time, but it's my favourite. And that bass...

Yeah I've always preferred the Peel version to the album version because of the bass too.

I never get tired of listening to these songs, and as for capturing my "essence" there has to be two: one the positive, loving side and the other drifting to melancholy. I like to think the positive is the much stronger of the two, though.

Well if it is your favourite then that is all that matters! Man that song was Savage ( Really cool ) Really like his vocals and the bass. Badassery at its finest.
This song reminds me of falling in love, partly because I heard it for the first time when I was experiencing said sensation. One of U2's most experimental, ethereal songs. Sublime. U2 - Promenade - YouTube

Not the biggest U2 fan, but that is a great tune. Just don't watch the video
![]() I think everyone has a favourite in most genres (that they care for) to be honest. So here's what I consider to be my current favourite Hip Hop song ever. No Hip Hop artist has grown on me as much as Kendrick Lamar. I always loved Section.80 but the more I listen to it, the more I consider it to be one of the best albums of all time. Also, this is the only Hip Hop album that has actually made me teary, and I am not the kind of person who gets all that emotional when listening to music.

i'm not a huge fan of Cash's American Recordings, but this one, this one.......
you can hear every bit of emotion he's putting into the song, and the images in the video just seques, you feel every iota of his frustration as he's nearing death, mourning the death of June, of how he could and would have changed things in his past and when he cries out "i will give it all, my empire of dirt" - i'm bawling like a baby i surmise this is how i would feel, as encapsulated in the song, when i'm nearing the Kingdom

That Hip Hop song was badass! You like your badass songs Tom!
And Yeah Duce, that song is beautiful, Cash really let loose on that one. This one is from a band that happen to be friends of mine. This song is absolutely beautiful, the guy who wrote it ( Philip Christie ) is a genius. It captures the feeling of the unkown for me, the ethereal qualities to life. The notion that we are only human and to think that we know everything is silly, the possibility that there is so much more to the world than what we physically see. Supernaturally, spiritually and existentially. Name refers to the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. O Emperor - Heisenberg - YouTube
