Nightwish- Imaginarium
 

Has anyone checked out this this new album? Both Classic Rock Magazine and Classic Rock Presents Prog Magazine are praising this new prog release. Supposedly they're making a movie out of it as well. I know of Nightwish, but I have never listened to them.

Anyone know if this lives up to all its hype? I'll look for some YouTube clips and post them.

I wouldn't call it prog really, but it's a really good record. Think Tim Burton meets metal

Never liked the band really, but "Storytime" is worth to listen still, best Nightwish since Tarja Turunen were kicked from the band.

I knew they had picked up a new signer, do Nightwish fans think she is inferior to the original vocalist? I guess it doesnt matter to me since I havent heard either one.

I've had my eye on the band for a while, so I'll give it a try.

I enjoy their music a lot. I find that both Tarja and Anette have distinct voices, although I believe the new singer has a more "mainstream" vocal style, but still very enjoyable. Tarja is very operatic (if that's even a word), and very enjoyable as well.

I liked them with Tarja, but they were really a gimmick band, "Hey, let's play generic symphonic metal and have some chick sing opera over it!" At least they had a distinct sound though, from what I've heard of newer Nightwish, I can just as easily listen to Lacuna Coil or Within Temptation and be just as happy.
