Yeah I guess it's gonna stink, but we'll need a 5th for a tiebreaker.

2-2

But I must say Battle for Seattle is very pleasant. It's a great change of pace. I would much rather listen to this than the original Nirvana.

Wow, Little Roy's album is really a fresh new take on those Nirvana tunes. I try not to listen to Nirvana that much, so most of the songs stand in their own light for me. I will say that the interpretation of About A Girl is very good and Sliver (one of the Nirvana songs that I couldn't quite recognize) is my favourite on the album. That being said, I'm not a fan of Nirvana's grunge or Little Roy's reggae, while Pink Floyd's psychadelliprog and, to a lesser extent, Les Claypool's quirkiness are top notch in my book. Animals is one of my favourite albums and The Frog Brigade serves a grand homage to the magical piece, which I can really respect.

That being said, my vote goes once again to Animals.

Little Roy - 2
Les Claypool - 3

So, glad to see a few move votes, so let's keep the momentum going! Live Frogs slips by Battle for Seattle 3-2. Mrd00d is next in the que, but since his horse is still in this race, I'll put up my own suggestion and the best part is, it's a readily available EP!

Live Frogs Set 2 by Les Claypool's Frog Brigade

1. Defeated Por Vida: A Tribute To The Songs Of Alejandro Escovedo 2-1
2. Defeated Little Roy's Battle for Seattle 3-2

well, i am not all familiar with Junior Kimbraugh's songs

and Garrett has been saying very good things about the Black Keys, so i thought i'd check them out

so, as yet again, instead of going into the merits, as i haven't heard a single Kimbraugh song, as a matter of principle, i prefer the blues over prog so:-

Frogs - 0
Black Keys - 1

I just can not get into the Black Keys. I tried their breakout album and didn't like it, their 2011 album with the van on it and really didn't enjoy it, and this was different, but not really something I can say I'd want to go back to.

Les Claypool's Frog Brigade - 1
Black Keys - 1

It would be a dick move if I just voted for my album to break this tie, anyone else care to chime in?

Soz guys, haven't noticed this was on. Will listen to the Black Keys album later, will have my vote in by tonight, as I'm broke and staying in on a friday.

EDIT: The deed is done, listened to the Black Keys record.

I'll admit I have no idea who the artist they were covering was, and found it hard to get into any of the tracks which were just generic low-fi bluesy rock.
Some of the guitar work was pretty nice, but nothing in comparison to the technical masterclass Les Claypool puts on in his album.

The vocals on neither album are great, so taking into account who played the better music, I'll have to go with the frog.

Frogs 2
Black Keys 1

Final decision this Thursday evening. I also need some albums for the theme.

There's always that Beatles tribute album, Yellow Matter Custard.

If you need more, there's

Hammer of the Gods
Led Zeppelin tribute album

Cygnus and the Sea Monsters
Rush tribute album
