I thoroughly enjoyed Satori, but I'm going to have to go with Maltid. It's truly a masterpiece of RIO/avant-prog and has this pastoral and playful nature that is quite unique to the genre.
I mean, along with being ridiculously complex, the album is surprisingly catchy and the arrangements never grow stale. One example of this is the ten minute-long opening track... It manages to hold onto its consistency and accessibility despite being lengthy, complex, and a bit experimental. Then there are the quasi-falsetto vocals, which are often very shrill and puerile. I've always loved how they dance around the melodies of each track and sometimes (almost forcefully) butt into some of the parts. In my opinion... you really couldn't pick a better accompaniment to the instrumentals. They just help bring it all together and give it the playful charm for which Matlid is notorious for. Overall, Maltid is a very cohesive and creative album, and I feel that Satori just isn't as interesting, fun, or original as it is. Satori - 1 Maltid - 2 |

Maltid - color me biased, but i dig the Canterbury influences, they also sound like some bastard offsprings of Fred Frith, so yeah, great stuff
Satori - still good, but pales next to Maltid Maltid - 3 Satori - 2 |

Many have tried, but Maltid finally defeats Satori 3-2 and ends Satori's win streak at 3. Frownland has dibs on the next album and this is his selection...

yeesh! the Mr. Bungle sounded pretty good upon first listen but later, most of it are half-baked ideas and the only song which works is "Desert Search for Techno Allah"

I'm going with Maltid as well, when I recommended Disco Volante I didn't realize that it was going to go up against Sammla Mammas Manna. Both are great albums, but I prefer Rock in Opposition to the early musings of Patton-ism.
