The guitar player in the fictional band also goes by the name Billy Tallent, pretty obvious where another particular Ontario band picked up their name from. The movie also features Hugh Dillon in the lead role where his experience in fronting The Headstones for the last decade prior to the film's creation was an obvious asset. Anyone who wants to play punk rock or adhere to a serious DIY ethic of making music for a living first and securing a regular paycheck second should really take the time to check this film out. |

I watched This Is Spinal Tap for the first time last night (I know, I know). The satire was pretty great, and some moments made me cringe with how obnoxious they were being. Great film.

^ That's definitely one of my top comedies and music films.
Note: on IMDb, the rating scale goes from 1 to 11.

Damn straight you do!
In all honesty, it's not very good in the traditional sense but it's the most fun I've had watching a movie with friends in a long time. It's put together alright but it's just really cheesy, predictable and sort of ridiculous. You wouldn't expect anything less, though, and maybe if you kicked back a 6-pack it would turn into a really superb movie. This video of the competing band "Mudslide Crush" performing a song should help convince everyone to watch this film. |

I've been watching, although it's not really a movie, but ONE TREE HILL is a great TV series wherein there's music in it and they won't end a season without featuring a or including bands or single artists in their show.
It's a great one! |

School of Rock was awesome because it inspired me to want to teach students how to play music.
Scott Pilgrim is just awesome cuz of the garage rock sound. Plus it kinda reminds me of my lifestyle...partying it up with friends, jam the hell out of our instruments, and meet random people. lol! |
