I'd say that if you can really make it your own, covers are acceptable. If it's just someone playing a song in the exact same way, other than the fact that I doubt anyone will vote for it, it's kind of antithetical to the theme of the thread.

Cool because I saw the topic and spent the last 2 days learning little wing, a song I have always wanted to try. Obviously it wont be a copy because im no Jimmi, or even Jimmi's turd. That song always makes me think about the past and when I first discovered the blues.

Although if anyone is against covers then I will not do it, but at least I learned a song out of it!
