Host program was Sonar 8.5PE, drums were programmed in SessionDrummer2 using the Steven Slate heavy zep kit (comes with Sonar), bass was programmed with Z3ta 2, synth stab in Z3ta 2, another synth line in Z3ta+, Piano in Dimension Pro, vocals recorded in my closet with a Mogami MXL 2006, and everything processed with resident plugins from Sonar, plus Waves plugins, and mastered with iZotope Ozone 5.

I have sonar but cant figure out how to use the drum maker. It always wants to make the output my headpone jack of the mic and not my speakers.

How is the Sonar interface? Is it easy to use?

That was a crazy track by the way. It sounded pretty damn professional.

You have to specify which output you want on each track. In sessiondrummer, the default is to put everything on one channel into the master bus, which is usually outputted to your main output on your sound card. When you insert SD2, the midi channel and the related audio channel comes up in the arrangement window, and in the audio channel, the O (output) dropdown box needs to be pressed, where you can select "master", and in the console/mixer, and the master channel output needs to be your speaker outputs, which is whatever output you have on your sound card that your speakers are plugged into.

Thanks!
The Sonar interface takes some getting used to at first, and can be confusing. It's pretty deep. But it's completely customizable, so there's flexibility. The main thing is just figuring out where everything is. If you spend some time just looking around and setting things up the way you would want them set up, it's fine, as long as you know what you're looking at.

I have strep throat this week and was going to do a song with vocals but alas, I cannot. I will still vote and try to get in on the fun next week.

I've had strep before. It's awful. Get well soon! Drink lots of green tea

Yeah, I'm probably not going to have one this week either. I messed up my neck really badly and it's been bothering me for days. I know it sounds funny but it kind of killed my motivation to be hunched over a keyboard working on music. It's getting better though so I should be able to get back on track for next week.

Looks as though only 2 people have submitted. I'll leave this theme up another week so we can have a good amount of submissions
