Out of interest what albums (new or old) have impressed you most recently?

There's also the 2011 Top Album Lists thread. My personal favorite albums of 2011 were the following, all of which are great from beginning to end:

10. Death Grips—Exmilitary
9. The Book of Knots—Garden of Falling Stars
8. Gridlink—Orphan
7. Whores—Ruiner
6. Shabazz Palaces—Black it up
5. Tom Waits—Bad as Me
4. Necro Deathmort—Music of Bleak Origin
3. Tune-Yards—Whokill
2. Combat Astronomy—Flak Planet
1. Matthew Shipp—The Art of the Improvisor

Not always true. I don't particularly care for her music, but Adele's album was solid. And I am sure a few other widely known projects are solid.

What exactly is "solid"? An album that's good as well as being consistent in its quality from song to song?

I have never wanted to play a Guns N Roses album for more than one song let alone the whole 12 tracks.

There have been so many releases in the past 2 years that I have been so impressed by. Plus the fact that I have discovered a lot of artists through last.fm which have also been added to my collection. Nowadays you just have to search for the music you like.
