We can finally get started on making that happen.
I almost forgot that! That sort of stopped my brain for a split second, then I was just like, "Why?"

Yeah, I was taken aback by it. It's so ridiculous and generic. But maybe I just don't get it.

They may as well have just shot off fireworks that spelled out, "Stop Gay Bullying".

At least that would be adressing a specific ongoing problem.
I mean, is Al Qaeda going to see that and say "You know what, fuck this man, she has a point."

I personally own all of her albums and listen to her music from time to time. I think she was certainly talented for her time. While her musical talent is decreasing with age, making her focus in other areas such as entertainment and hypersexualization, it still doesn't take away from the fact that she made it big and had some great songs. I will always have respect for her, regardless of the ups and downs in her career.

Madonna always put a lot of energy into "entertainment and hypersexualization." For whatever reason, she doesn't seem able to create good songs anymore. Happens to most artists eventually.

Isn't that more up to the songwriters and producers?

I may well be wrong and perhaps she still does her own material, but my assumption before checking the facts would be that she doesn't.

Madonna has helped write many of her songs. That's one reason she isn't overrated. From a brief search, it appears she still does some of the songwriting - but it's gone downhill for whatever reason. A guess is that in trying to stay modern, she's worked with hip-hop artists who simply aren't good at songwriting. Pandora's box - has songwriting in pop music overall been worsening in the past 10-15 years?

Whether she writes her own songs or not, they suck. But that's just me

No offense, Madonna fans.

She's actually got quite a dull voice for pop music. I think most poptarts have voices full of power and embellishments, but hers is really rather plain and subdued when compared to other icons.
