everybody....well pretty much everybody raved and raved about how progressive and amazing they were....i listened to a couple tracks and went "neh!"....then they opened for Primus on a new years eve.....i literally went to the highest seat in the Oakland Colosseum to well....ironically get high....seconds after the band started their set i was sold....amazing live.....still not a huge fan of their recorded albums.....i do listen to them from time to time.....but i've yet to miss a chance to see them live since |

Peers? not so much. I grew around kids who honest to crap though Bon Jovi was real, tough guy, rock and roll music, until about 1992.
Though based on being the one weird kid in high school who was listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers before Blood Sugar Sex Magik came out, most people find it odd that I never got into Jane's Addiction until almost a decade later (when Kettle Whistle came out in '97). Hell, looking back, I find it odd haha. Also didn't get into Nirvana until I got In Utero (on cassette) in the mail as the selection of the month for Columbia House. |
