From my favorite nes games, the music in it is just too awesome |
Oh god, let me tell you! Back in the day, I used to subscribe to Nintendo Power. One month, around the era of Super Smash Bros Melee, they sent us this beauty for free:
http://images.wikia.com/ssb/images/4...hing_Live!.jpg It's essentially the main medleys from every major Nintendo title, performed by a live orchestra. I still have the CD. I love it so much. |
Honourable mentions

"Back in the day for me" isn't really all that long ago but I did play a lot of old nintendo was I was little. For some reason my parents didn't wanna get me a playstation or anything for a while so instead I just played my nintendo. I really loved the thing though and managed to accumulate quite a large amount of nintendo games now. |

Review section: "mario" in the game title? 10 stars! Two more old favorites (I'd forgotten about this guy ^, he has a great channel full of awesome gaming music) Aw man, and who can forget starfox? |
It's funny with all the games out nowadays with new and current music attaches the most memorable will always be the custom nintendo themes...
and tho I could easily go into a collage of megaman themes (the best games for music soundtrack IMP by far) my all time favourite is the theme from Ice Hockey. and let's hope i've liked this right!!! |

I've always been partial to the music from the Mega Man series. It was awesome when rapper Random used a bunch of samples to make Mega Man themed hip hop albums, as well as one done entirely with Final Fantasy VII music.
|
Sorry for going cliche Mario but the music is soooo good...
From quite arguably one of my favorite games. Scare the **** out of you good... The guys at Nintendo are geniouses in every way, if it says Nintendo, it will be fun for a good 50+ hours. |

To this day I still listen to all the Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong 64 tracks. Grant Kirkhope did the DK64 tracks, and it's the first venture into shall I say ambient electronic?
But my all time favorite Nintendo tune is from the first Donkey Kong Country: Jungle Groove It's permanently stuck in my head. You'll often find me humming this. Ba doo da lee dee ... ba dee da la dee ... doo da loo da dee da da. Dee da dee dee ... Dee da da dee. Ba na na deedle leedle dee da da da. Ermm... somethin like that. The whole Donkey Kong Country soundtrack is amazing. |
Whoda thunk it? |

More in the Mega Man vein

Battletoads.
Very late NES game, so they knew exactly what they were doing sound wise. Ridiculous game, great music. |

Check out the gameboy music. It was just as awesome |

This might also be a cliche choice but, whatever, it would fit on a Boards of Canada disc. |
Heh I was subscribed at birth :D I was born in '87 and my mom got every issue from the get-go. It started out as a newsletter. The first few were no more than like 5 pages, just a paper. I got every issue up until ... sometime around 2000 I unsubscribed. I had my whole room covered in Nintendo Power centerfolds...
I miss NP. I miss playing Nintendo. Dammit. |
will get back to you on that
my PS2 shorted out so i haven't found a fave tune on the SNES emulators I have probably getting it fixed soon |
is it strictly Nes, or Can Snes be counted too?

I can't believe this thread has no mention of the Advantage, the Minibosses, or the Bit Brigade yet
Live soundtrack to a MM2 speed run by the Bit Brigade the Advantage covering the Batman track someone posted earlier(which was weird for me to hear because I'd only heard this version before today) and the Minibosses playing the Zelda theme |
