You guys, I'm getting a little scared about SOPA. How am I supposed to listen to new music if every place I get it from is taken down by the government! I don't have enough money to go out and drop $15-20 on every new album!!!! ****.

Let me get this straight, the United States Government has the ability to actually shut down a foreign website because of CLAIMS by the MPAA? Not to mention the founders of said site are being arrested.

Never before have I been so pissed. I don't think we have a right to police the rest of the world, none at all. I hate the RIAA and MPAA, I seriously fucking hate those greedy scumbags. I hope everything they love is taken away from them.

I can't believe the US has the nerve to try and infringe upon the right to free speech of other nations, and also to try and censor things that people read or download on the Internet - people WHO LIVE IN OTHER ****ING COUNTRIES, BY THE WAY.

If the US and those greedy jerks at RIAA, etc, want to police the Internet, do it in your own country and leave the rest of us the **** alone. Thanks.

According to the article, some of the servers used by Megaupload were in Virginia so that does fall under the jurisdiction of the US authorities. Not that I'm defending this, I still think it's an abuse of power and an absurd waste of time.

That one actually happened last year as the bill first came into the limelight, and they were eventually forced to remove the block due to popular protest against it. I'm hoping now that the senate will start to ignore the lobbyists and actually realise that they're basically acting out on the internet form of violation of human rights.

Oh, and FYI, the MPAA, one of the most corrupt organisations in the media industry, the collection of bureaucratic terrorists that makes every effort to stifle the freedoms of the industry, has accused WIkipedia of 'abusing their power'.
