Whats your favorite TV theme song!

What is your favorite TV theme song!

I have two favorites. Mine is the theme from Daria and the theme from Kids in the Hall. They both remind me of being a very little kid (also Daria is an incredibly awesome show). Which is a good memory because I had a really really good childhood when I was little and I think these songs in many ways have laid the ground for my tastes now strangely enough. I mean I love both of these songs just as much as I did when I was a little kid and that must say something.

Nice picks Odyshape.

I got to go with Mission Hill off the top of my head for using CAKE.

Little bit of Italian Leather Sofa.

Also got to say themes in the 90s were a little more sweet, weren't they?

Rocko's Modern Life had a memorable one for me

I remember Mission Hill! Thanks for reminding me about that show I can't remember if I liked it or not gonna find it again.

The rockos modern life theme song is awesome! Pat Irwin from Raybeats a neosurf/nowave band and also (keyboardist?) for the b52s at one point wrote that song! He also did the pepper ann theme song aswell.

I love Raybeats one of my favorite recent discoveries!

The 70s and 80s were even sweeter. So many classic themes it's impossible to pick one. From Dynasty and Taxi to Treasure Hunt and Blake's Seven.

Welcome Back Kotter.

/thread?

:D

Also, Odyshape, Mission Hill I've got a soft spot for for some reason. Brian Posehn is the perfect Jim Kuback. I'd feel right at home living there in that neighborhood I'd say. Love the comedy of the show.

basically anything by Lalo Schiffrin, but i watched this one religiously as a kid and it's the first one that came to mind when you mention tv themes:-

to paraphrase Tarantino : "when you hear the song, wham! you know it's gonna be BIG"

Some of my favorites from when I was a kid...

Taxi—There's just something so relaxing about this theme, fits the subdued tone of the show very well.

Magnum P.I.—Has there ever been a more exciting theme for a TV show? (Note hilarious ass inspection at 0:14.)

Night Rider—Some nice brooding 80s electronica. Too bad the show could never live up to the vibe created by the music.

That's a great one. I've always loved how the music goes with the images of the intro. Such an unusual way to open a comedy show, with something that sounds sort of bittersweet. I also have to say I prefer the slightly different version of the song from the show's first season:

just great theme songs that really give you a strong idea about what type of show you're going to watch....

they really just do not make sitcoms like they did in the 80s.....
