Please. No Dashboard Confessional, Jimmy Eats World, Death Cab for Cutie, Straylight Run, or Taking Back Sunday? If there is any left, I would Love to here them, thanks. Or, just post your favorite post-hardcore punk, folk punk, freak folk, or orgcore. No emo or screamo, pretty please?

At the Drive In is pretty well known, but I'm not so sure about the rest.

Actually Charlemagne, I haven't gotten the chance. I'm glad you mentioned that they are different than what I might expect, so, I will listen. I have been busy writing, and, was ironically listening to the Hold Steady when I clicked the email And, I was just laughing again, because, you seem like to quote Craig, and, he doesn't almost kill me, he slays me too

I was thinking what is my favorite Hold Steady song. I can always find certain meaning to artists lyrics, but, Craig Finn is off the freaking wall. How does he come up with this sh*t?

She said, my name's Steve Perry, baby
People call me Circuit City
I'm so well connected
my UPC is dialed into the system?

The Swish is one. I'm trying to narrow it to a few. What's yours? And, I do also love Charlemagne in Sweatpants, so, it's up there too. Both Crosses might be. I just can't get over how utterly original he is. How can anyone classify this Band? Indie rock? Oh well. They are one of those few special bands you can't classify.

And, I think Franz Nicolay put out two really good solo albums. He toured with Against Me! for about a year, did you know that?

Oh well, thanks again. I will listen tomorrow....or today I guess, it's 7:30 am, and I have terrible insomnia, so, I'm going to make an effort to sleep. I'm trying to learn how to lucid dream, but, I have to doze off first

take care

peace

The Swish is one of my all time favorite songs by them actually, but I still think my favorite song of all time is Stuck Between Stations, partially because it was the first song I heard by them but also because the lyrics are fantastic. I also love Your Little Hoodrat Friend and The Weekenders. But I love Finn's lyrics, he tells such fascinating stories and Charlemagne was always a cool character (cooler than Gideon in my opinion). Hallelujah (Holly) is clearly the most interesting character he creates.

Charlemagne.....you had one that I wish to high heaven they would sing.

The saddest Landscape - awesome sound, awesome
Damn I wish somebody could just convince this band to sing.
I ran through their discography, and I can recognize intelligence through track titles, and, I would imagine the lyrics are probably very insightful, but, I just cannot understand why a band with that talent would feel the need to scream incoherently.

Gifted band. When they decide that vocalists use voice as an instrument, and I hope they do, let me know, because they have a great sound.

How do we go about deleting all these double links? I tried and it would not let me delete anything.

I imagine that Your favorite Weapon is your favorite Brand New album, correct? It is my least, but, it is not the emo as I the problems with.

Emo is not simply a specific generic sound in most bands. The songs are almost always love songs, and, the love is not with us. They are passion songs with rather lame mushy lyrics. And, I don't like love songs when they are consistently passion songs, and I just don't care for them. I used to when I was a young pup who wanted to pour out my heart to a girl, as we all do when we're young. And, Charlemagne tell me what happens when we pour our heart out to our first loves or even a few times? Everyone knows the answer. I would venture to bet money that everyone here knows the answer. Pour out the heart, and then have it stomped on We should take a poll to see exactly how many people are still with that first true love, and who had their guts torn out by that first love. It would be interesting

Brand New has an awesome ballad that is the type that may have been written with a female in mind, but, it address the concept of the honest Love for the inner spiritual reunion of one's True 'soul mate'. It's called "the no seat belt song", and I'm sure you know it. Fantastic ballad.

Anyway, I appreciate your effort, and I do actually know spoonboy. He is in the Max Levine Ensemble, which I have a few of their songs. He sounds like this riot folk singer named Ryan Harvey. I love these type of tell it like is and f/u to the corporate fascists, and money grubbing politicians. That's why I love Tom Gabel. I wanted to share this. This is something about Brand New that I strictly listen to studio tracks. I saw them with my Son a couple years ago, and, they really suck canal water live. Jessey Lacey cannot really sing that well, and they were just awful. And, I have listened to almost every live track, and it never got better. They dub his voice way up.

And, when we went to see Against Me!, they put on a hell of show. I don't if you have heard either live, but, here. Listen.

In a bar with just Tom and his guitar.

And, while I was looking this popped up, so, I might as well post it as well

Those were all in my debate, along with many others. Same kooks. Cattle and Creeping Things......yada yada yada. I enjoy his takes on bible stories, he's right. the dude blamed the chick, and the chick blamed the snake. and the snake was the only one who told the Truth. Got his legs torn off. I should post a story I wrote about that debacle. It's quite hilarious, but, it would piss some people off, who swear it literally happened exactly like it doesn't say

Gotta go. Didn't sleep, so, I am going manipulate me a doctor, and, get some good old fashioned pills that they just do not prescribe anymore, because there is no money in good old fashioned generic pills that actually work. They are wined and dined and rewarded for dishing these new 'synthetic' garbage full of nice chemicals, including fluorine now. Research that shi*, and, tell me fluoride is good for your teeth. Don't get me started on the subject of toxic fu*cking nuclear waste they put in everything from toothpaste to water, and even ketchup. It's not really funny, but, the PTB will get their just reward for their actions.

We need a revolution. But, I should not say that publicly. Big Brother is watching. They have the best spyware. So, if you want to go to heaven, strap a nuke to your chest, and, go blow fu*cking Wall street to kingdom come. A guaranteed trip to paradise

I get goofy, and I know all the rat bastards. I'm not a threat. I'm lily white.

peace

If you like The Hold Steady you should check out Lifter Puller. They're Craig Finn's old minneapolis band and IMO they are waaaaayyyyy better than the hold steady. They're way less about barroom ballads and way more about drugs and grimy shit, which is cool.
