Patti Smith, for sure. I was so close twice; First when I was in New York City. And She wasn't performing with her band the second time, but she was speaking in Flint, Michigan. It's difficult to catch a performance because she is out of the U.S most of time.

I think that's it, Bright Eyes was on the list but I caught the last show when they were on tour in September.

Floyd DID play a few songs together at a charity event in June and it went well apparently. Nick Mason went as far as saying that there is a chance that they do some gigs as a 3 piece (obviously Rick Wright won't be there!) with every penny going to charity. No new music, no nostalgia trips and milking the public, just a band getting together for those of us unlucky enough not to see them before and raising money for charity. Can't say fairer than that apart from the ticket prices. I reckon it will be well over £150 a ticket.

Good shouts for The Cure and De La Soul.

Wouldn't mind checking out Public Enemy (if they ever got around to gigging again) and going to a decent club with a DJ set from the likes of Krafty Kuts.

Saw their very last show with Thomas Pridgen a couple years ago, it was fucking awesome except for this fat dude in front of us that smelled like a mix of dead skunk and weed

But for me it's probably Thrice, mewithoutYou, or The Appleseed Cast. I missed TAC last August cause the venue is always 18+ but this show wasn't for some reason, and I didn't find out till after. Still pissed

I think that's a pretty good list! There are always the types who'll accuse Pink Floyd of being pretentious because of the way the run their concerts (workmen building a wall as they play, that weird globe thing... etc) but I just think that you are really getting your money's worth, regardless of whether or not you like their music. I'd rate them as the best band to see live, even if you hate Pink Floyd. I hope you get to see them soon!

My guess is Rik Emmett has an outstanding live performance.
