To be honest, I own every Coldplay record, from the "Don't Panic" EP to the lesser known "Prospekts March" release that accompanied "Viva la Vida". I can see what people love about them, but for me they've never really had any genuine emotion in their songs (don't get me started on "The Scientist").

Spetterist, I think that what a lot of people will say is that Coldplay seem to sound beautiful, and Chris Martin might have a sweet voice, but when you listen to lyrics, the kind of stuff you hear is "come up to meet you / tell you I'm sorry / you don't know how lovely you are". It really is pretty unimaginative stuff, and verging on cliched if you asked me. Hope this will be useful for your questionnaire! |

Everything's not lost is nice, too. And it's as you say; They were some great ideas, there. A lot of people forget that Coldplay (perhals not on purpose) started a big rush of top 40 alternative-like music in this century. I'm not saying that's a good thing, but they definitely did something for music back then. I reckon their first album will be considered a masterpiece in a couple of decades. We'll see . I own Parachutes and X&Y. I rarely listen to X&Y. I thought A rush of blood was unneccesary pompous and their latest two albums are just doing boom boom boom all the time. Don't like that. Spetteraar; It's the first time I see people admit they like stuff about coldplay here, haha. You definitely started something
