Marc Bolan (T.Rex) is the true and only, God Of Rock and Metal.

Europe, Tommy Tutone, The Knack, Norman Greenbuam and Chumbawamba are forever tied to their only productive output in life...

Thus I dub them the Feudal Serfs of Rock.

We'll have that. No one can deny the ROCK. I've been listening to "Children of the Revolution" way too much in the last couple of years.

T-Rex - Children of The Revolution - YouTube

Enjoy!

The influence of this particular single influenced everything from Glam Rock..to 90s Grunge (Metal).

Marc Bolan did just as much with this single video and song, than David Bowie ever achieved with one song.

Another of my faves! I love that riff so much!

Click on the button which looks like a world with a paperclip below it. It will insert a hyperlink. And now you have 15 posts, you can do that.

Shame he died four years before MTV even existed. Then people might not ask "WHO?" every time Marc Bolan comes up in conversational context.

Odd to see Stones, Hendrix and Cream/Clapton missing. What about Van Halen? No one may like the flamboyant sunset striprock that ensued ... But they certainly popped it open.

As for Metallica, I might be biased, but I'm not sure they should be so low.

GnR?

Kuddos to Marc Bolan ref ... 20th Century Boy is an all time riff classic.

Muse? Easily the best band ever to come out of Teignmouth, and better than any from nearby Exeter, so they can certainly be granted the status of "Devon Echelons", but earth? I think that's a bit like saying Hamilton Academical are one of the world's best football clubs. They bash up in Glasgow, but won't really be in the same sort of league as Barcelona.
