I can't say I've lost any loved ones to substance abuse, but I can definitely say I've seen a lot of them become people I don't understand or relate to anymore, which is difficult in its own right.
If I'm being honest, I don't think your concerns and distastes are valid in a thread about simple dope, if indeed those painful experiences and fears are where your attitude is stemming from. |

That's probably for the best, because your own biases are hurting you more than they are "fighting the good fight" or what have you.

Going back to the original question....
If I spend money on an album the last thing I want to do is to have to spend even more money getting high just to make the damn thing sound any better. You're the musician YOU make it sound better before you release the fucking thing. |

No one has ever overdosed on weed though, it's impossible and you'll fall asleep before you've smoked too much. But as regards more serious drugs I can certainly understand your hate for them. |

I don't do anytihing beyond weed, but I can honestly tell you that, if anything, I just find the experience all the more pointless.
Much rather get drunk and jump around a bit. |

I do believe that certain things can be used in moderation with possible benefit. But so many let the drug lead them instead. It can become a lethal combination, if history tells us anything. |

I thought he was serious in his "coming out thread". That was what made it so funny!

Weed definitely doesn't diminish your ability to make distinctions in personal preference. It just amplifies the response you get from those stimuli. |
I'm not really experienced in smoking weed. I've smoked some and listened to music at the same time. I don't really remember perceiving music any differently when being high. The only thing that comes to my mind is one afternoon when we layed in a park with my friend and her friends last summer. We smoked some weed and listened to some classic motown recordings and I really enjoyed the music. I don't think the weed affected my listening. I just had genuinely nice time and I was really happy which made the music even more enjoyable to listen to.

Smoking kush makes music better. I walked home blazed listening to Sleigh Bells and I could hear the beats pulsing inside of me. It was great. Plain old regular pot doesn't really do much though. If there's music on, I don't really care.

In MY opinion, it's the best way to listen to music. Whenever I get a new album or want to look for some new music, I smoke herb just before. What it does for me is enhance the listening experience in just about every way possible. When I am high, my senses become enhanced, and one of things cannabis does for me is let me be in a free state of mind. I find a comfortable place where I feel relaxed and I just empty my mind, sit on my couch, close my eyes, and get lost in the music. I'd say about 80% of my favorite albums were in result of having such a good experience with them while stoned.

I ate a dro brownie today, I was blazed for about 5 hours. The Allman Brothers were sounding so damn good. Especially the 2 drummers. :drummer:

But seriously. Spoofs are miraculous things. |

But yes, that can work sometimes. I don't trust myself not to have a rare coughing fit, though, so the spoof comes in super handy. |

Quote:
1. music - mood 2. sex - Sexy Hexy (Artane) 3. school - baggy trousers 4. family - bickering 5. friends - b!tching about other friends who are not there |
Quote:
2.sex- depending on who ur having it with... weed can either make them appealing or at least make things tolerable and that depends on how bad it is. 3.school- makes teachers less annoying 4.family- makes the bickering less irritating 5.friends- makes their b!tching about other friends who are not there less :banghead: <--- sh!tty |
uh, i wouldn't want to be in a peaceful quasi-ecstatic mood all the time when I listen to music - i sometimes want to be angry so's I can hear angry music, depressed for sad bastard music and alert when i'm trying catch all the notes in jazz
the other things you've mentioned are basically "escapes" - you have to face it sober sooner or later |

You see a anti-Marijuana commercial on TV, then the next commercial you see is a beer advertisement that completely glorifies the ****. It's just not right. :banghead: |
I don't know why, but lately I've noticed that Gogol Bordello is my absolute favorite thing to listen to stoned. I really enjoy it sober, but for some reason, it's been exactly what I've wanted to hear stoned lately.
