If you need weed to enjoy music, it's not worth it. Half of the people that I knew who were potheads only listened to Sublime and Bob Marley, and that was literally the only thing they listened to while high. I like repetition and drones whenever I decided to spark up, but that's mainly because it sounds good to me while I'm sober. That feeling of listening to good music you like and hearing things in a slightly different way is what makes it worthwhile.

I haven't smoked up in at least a year, but that's mainly because I don't have much money and I don't know anyone who smokes anymore. Sure, it would be a treat, but it's not keeping me up at night or anything.

I don't think it's a case of needing to, music sounds better if you're on a long car journey, any time your mind has a chance to relax you'll be able to appreciate music better, it's just a case of making the most of it.

I think there's bit of a misunderstanding. I'm trying to say if you absolutely need marijuana to enjoy something, especially music and you can't enjoy it otherwise, then it's not worth it. I even said that when I smoked it just added to what I already enjoyed. I haven't dabbled too much in psychedelics, but from what experiences I've had with marijuana and listening to music, I noticed things that really never stuck out otherwise. It must be my unintelligible gibberish, because I was trying to say Marijuana DID add to my listening experiences.

you mean developing a reliance on a drug? I agree, that would be pretty ****ty.

or it could be that I'm still a little tired, read the first few lines of your post and skimmed the rest like a complete donkey.

I certainly don't need weed. I don't smoke very much anymore. Music is unquestionably amazing when I'm sober, but weed just seems to amplify the sound and the pleasure.
