I don't think lucifer_sam would agree with that:

I've been having too many fucking problems sleeping when I don't smoke and it's seriously messing with me. I'm at a point in my life when I don't need it, I don't want it, and further abuse would only provoke mental instability.

And you know what? I feel pretty damn happy about finally kicking the habit.

Me 1 Marijuana 0

EDIT: This goes for all other hallucinogens too. I'm comfortable experiencing the world through a clear lens from now on.
And I take issue with your comments on alcohol. Nothing will aleviate my addiction to Scotch, and it's never done me a bit of harm, and I've never watched NASCAR!

I never said I was addicted. The sheer ease with which I parted company with the drug is itself evidence to that.

There was just a much bigger element to chemical dependence on marijuana that affected my sleep cycle. I really didn't get much restorative sleep when I smoked habitually...I've only started dreaming again this last week and a half or so.

I'm not objecting to taking the occasional toke at a concert or something, it's just a habit of mine that needed breaking.

In contrast, I've had HUGE problems in the past when I drank heavily -- being cognizant of those harsh physical withdrawal symptoms now affords me an element of control when I'm around alcohol.

Interesting... There seems to be an important distinction between "habit" and "addiction". Addictions are something embedded into your way of life, wheras habits are merely ritual, and are much more easily broken. That's not to say it's easy, though.

Nothing wrong with that LS. When you stop enjoying anything, it's time to stop. Personally, I quit black tar heroin about three hours ago

kidding. One of just a few drugs I've never done. The only drug I condone is weed. I don't smoke anymore, and, there is a time and a place. Not all the time and every place. I'm prescribed Oxycontin, but, rarely take it. I watched it kill my brother ten years ago at 45, and, I never cared for an opiate buzz.

Good for you dude. Life is a trip anyway

peace

Were you buzzed when you came up with this gem? Thinking of a new way to restate the golden rule? And, a brilliant touch added with 'THE'.

You could take that to the world if men were not so 'dormant'

That's funny, you don't look lazy. As a matter of fact, when the day comes that I am rewarded for not being desirous, I believe I will see you in heaven's hell
