You see a anti-Marijuana commercial on TV, then the next commercial you see is a beer advertisement that completely glorifies the ****. It's just not right.
You're absolutely right there. Smoking has long lasting, potentially fatal effects, wheras the effects of weed are usually short term, and the long term effects can be easily minimised. And although I've never seen a beer comercial following an anti marijuana one, I'd be pretty angry if I did.

i've seen a documentary that says marijuana smokers have the same chances of developing throat cancer as normal smokers

I'd be very sceptical about that. Remember, in cigarrettes there's not just the tobacco but the tar to worry about. Tar sticks in your lungs, and will probably have worse lasting effects.

people usually smoke marijuana resin than leaves, which have a lot of unwanted chemicals as well

There are things like vaporizers that make the smoke a lot less harmful. And people who smoke cigarettes tend to smoke a lot more than people who smoke weed. There aren't many people who smoke 20 marijuana cigarettes a day, but there are a lot of people who smoke 20 cigarettes a day, and even more than that.

To be frank, neither marijuana and cigarrettes are completely harmless, but I think blastingas is right when he talks about the amounts of each taken in. Most people I know only do weed about once a week, which at least gives your body some time to recover. However, the effects of smoking can only be fully reversed after 15 years of not smoking.

They're actually just completing a study on this exact subject; so far, the combined use of marijuana and tobacco is almost twice as harmful than the use of just tobacco, but strangely marijuana smoke on its own has shown to be not as dangerous as tobacco smoke.

I'd guess that the marijuana smoke just exacerbates the more negative effects of cigarette smoke. Marijuana smoke's not harmless by any means, but I guess in this case it's like catching something on fire with gasoline and then throwing pine needles on it.

Yep, probably something to do with the fact that nowadays marijuana is genetically bred to be more resinous, more sticky, and more turpenoid-rich than ever before. Burning any sort of resin creates harsh ass smoke, whereas dried tobacco probably isn't as harsh but is a lot more harmful in its smoke quality.

With tobacco, it's the tar that does the lasting damage. It gets stuck in your lungs and leads to really horrible things like emphysema.
