I think Rolling Stone may have confused "great" with "overplayed". There is not a human being alive who isn't sick to death of hearing those albums.

i'm probably not relistening to either of them for another 20 yrs

I think even the most diehard Bob Dylan fan must be getting fed up with creepy lines like "she makes love just like a woman / she aches just like a woman / but she breaks just like a little girl" How disgusting is that?

Howard the Duck 11-13-2011 04:53 AM

it's hardly as disgusting as Dr. Hook covering Sam Cooke's "Sixteen"

"she was only sixteen"

Salami 11-13-2011 04:59 AM

Oh GOD. Although I don't think that was quite serious, and Bob thought that line may be considered beautiful.

Can`t stand Pet Sounds unless I`m going christmas shopping in a shopping mall. Revolver is a great album but played to death and Blonde on Blonde yawwwwwwwwn much rather listen to Freak Out when it comes to double albums of the 66/67 period.

I guess you could say it's bloody disgusting.

Off-topic, but it needs to be said...

I don't find ANY fascination in sex with virgins. They're terrible in bed (how could they not be?), you have to be extremely gentle and in the end you're left with a much bigger mess than the trouble you spent getting there. Not really worth it unless you're actually in love with the girl.

It doesn't sound like Dylan is being an advocate for pederasty, but that just might be one of the foulest lyrics penned by such a renowned Romantic.
