There are more categories but these are the simplest. I have been blown away by the diversity and emotion in his music time and time again.

What are your opinions on these guitarists and who is better in your opinion and for what reasons?
Jimi Hendrix as he was far more emotional.

I've done blind tests with people and have found out this is true. You show someone a great song and before you show it to them you say "Hendrix, Clapton, Eddie Van made it" and they go all crazy. It's more of a psychological thing.
Blind tests with you! Getting psychological....now thats scary!

Again you`re getting your adjectives totally wrong, sensual does means sexual and sensual its just an outward expression of sexual. I guess you mean to say sensuous here, which has a more subtle meaning.

I guess it's a product of how I and the other people around me used the word. Sensual never was used to connotate sex.

I`m not talking about the action of physical sex here but sensual in emiting sexual signals, something a lot of artists do as its expected. I`m just saying that you are incorrect, by saying sensual and sexual have nothing to do with each other here.

It would actually be easier, if you actually stated how Hendrix was a sensual artist and not a sexual one?

To me sensual is fleshly (not necessarily sexual). It's harder to explain on the internet but basically Jimi Hendrix makes you get in touch with yourself (sounds gay I know). I can't really explain it that well but I would think it's not that hard to understand.

Based on what you`ve just written above, I`d say it was pretty hard to understand I`ve got to admit eraser you`re one in a million! Which is why I suggested "sensuous" as the word you`re looking for, which actually appeals to the senses of the viewer or listener. But if you then take the sexual aspect out of it all, Hendrix starts to fall very much into the emotional category, which is something you state he is not!

i can't really state who i prefer, as my experience of Monsieur Buckethead is only limited to G n R's Chinese Democracy

but i still forcefully throw in my $0.02 and say Jimi was there first, he pioneered funk rock, shoegaze (listen to the studio version of Star Spangled Banner) and jazz-rock fusion (his unreleased stuff on South Saturn Delta)

i doubt Buckethead pioneered anything that wasn't already there - correct me if i'm wrong, did he pioneer blackgaze, chillwave, grime or dubstep? i mean i dunno

edit:- the most emotional thing I've heard are Swans
the most sensual thing I've heard is Prince's Dirty Mind album

Eh... I wouldn't say he pioneered shoegaze at all. If we want to be genre nazis (which I don't object to), the only album that could even be considered a precursor to the genre (from that time period) would be White Light/White Heat... and even that's a bit of a stretch. However, you could say he was an early pioneer of noise rock. His use of guitar feedback (along with The Monks and VU) as well as atonality and dissonance were vital in its creation.

Strange thing is, this thread is starting to make me realize Jimi was probably actually the more experimental of the two. I think it's really hard to image how big of an impact his guitar work made. I mean, the republicans at the time probably thought they were hearing the devil when it first came to their ears.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
Al Pacino = God

I can tell by the tone in your voice and the way you pronounce "The Republicans", that you could possibly be a hard core Democrat Ska Lagos Jew Sun Ra.

Meanwhile..back to the subject at hand..

What would be one of Bucketheads more popular/mainstream singles?

Jimi brought in something never heard before. Buckethead simply perfects the already existing sounds.
