Buckethead was influenced by Hendrix and plays his songs sometimes, and Buckethead really likes to experiment with pedals and feedback like Hendrix did. But other than those small things, they don't really relate and are quite different.

Exactly. You can link so many post-Hendrix guitarist back to Hendrix. He's like the missing link. That's a big reason why he's so damn great.

You can listen to so much post-Hendrix music, mainly rock, and just instantly see that the guitar work was heavily inspired by Hendrix. It's even there In jazzy guitarists like Oz Noy. I was just reading a guitar player maginzine interview in which he was saying that he was going for a Hendrix-esque sound on his new album.

Well it's interesting to note the parallels in how each group presented themselves in the way they created a backstory to explain the relations between the members. The inclusion of at least one female in each group at all times. The way they've marketed themselves and applied a lot of traditional stage based theatrics into their live acts helped them stand out from the crowd as well. The success of ABBA's Momma Mia stage play also gives me hope that we'll someday see a stage play for Scumdogs of the Universe - and that makes me happy.

Also I think Christian Fennesz might be one of the few 'guitarists' where it could be argued he wasn't influenced by Jimi Hendrix.
